Enable Flash on Google Chrome Linux Dev Build

Hey,

Looks like the google chrome dev build on linux don't come with flash enabled by default. This has been preventing you from using it on linux ? Here is a little 3 commands process that get you the google chrome plays flash on ubuntu (on most of the flash enabled site) :

sudo mkdir -p /opt/google/chrome/plugins
sudo cp /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/libflashplayer.so /opt/google/chrome/plugins/
/opt/google/chrome/google-chrome --enable-plugins

Feel free to comment if you have more hacks to enable other plugins on google chrome linux dev builds, I'll update the post :-)

  2. same ubuntu and kernel versions here.
What is your google chrome build version ? mine is 3.0.194.3.
Also I noted that even when not browsing sites with flash enabled sometimes the CPU is around 50% idle, so that is not really stable neither

  5. I had problems getting this working but then I realised I was using the 64-bit version of libflashplayer.so. I downloaded the 32-bit version from Adobe and now it's working. It doesn't display all Flash - it displays youtube.com but not a a whole lot more that I tested with. To see if the plugin is active type about:plugins in the browser bar. I notice in my terminal prompt that when I run google-chrome as sudo I get a lot less errors.
